The 2E-35A/B Shutdown Cooling (SDC) Heat Exchangers (HX) provide cooling for the Spray systems once they go on RAS, Recirc Actuation Signal. They also provide long term cooling during a plant shutdown. Flow through the tubes is Containment Spray or Reactor Coolant per the above listed functions. The 2E-35 SDC HX’s are a required component of the SDC Loop. In 2R24 2E-35A/B were found to have shell wall thicknesses below minimum allowable wall thickness in multiple areas. EC60179 was developed and code repair “PMCaps” were placed on all identified minimum wall thickness areas on 2E-35A & B during 2R24 extending the outage duration. The objective of this project was to replace the 2E-35A/B Shutdown Cooling (SDC) Heat Exchangers (HX) and to implement in ANO 2 RF025.
