Project Description:

During the 2000-2002 time frame River Bend Station (RBS) experienced multiple turbine trips due to issues with the existing electro-hydraulic control (EHC) system.  These trips were evaluated and attributed to obsolescence issues with the original General Electric (GE) Mark II control system.  The obsolescence of the system dictated an upgrade to the system to eliminate these trips. The Westinghouse Ovation Digital Control System was the selected alternative based on Industry Operating Experience as previously mentioned.  The Westinghouse DEHC System also provides benefits including; eliminating single point vulnerabilities, lifetime technical & parts support and expandability.

 

Matrix Roles & Responsibilities:

Matrix provided complete PMO Services; including Project Funding Acquisition, Cost Control, Project Management, Package Planning, Field Implementation Oversight, Safety Oversight, RP Oversight, Material Procurement, PCRS, Logistics Planning, Rigging Planning & Oversight, Contract Management, OCC & War Room.  Staffing reached 28 personnel at peak.
